Kirsty has over 13 years’ experience working in care for both children and adult services. After working in early years’ childcare, Kirsty then worked in secure units as a forensic mental health care assistant. She undertook extensive training in this area including therapeutic boundaries, sexual trauma, gender inequality and replacing self-harm. Kirsty then ran a project providing housing and support for young parents and troubled families. Kirsty has worked with children and adults with complex needs, mental health and challenging behaviours. Kirsty is a keen musician and enjoys playing piano and playing as part of a brass band where she also provides free tuition to local children.
Qualifications: A Levels in sociology, English and Music
